Hiking in Mountainous Nafpaktia:
Endless kilometers of trails in beautiful forests of fir and chestnut trees, are waiting to be explored. Every Saturday morning organized group hikes, in particular paths. http: //www.petrina.gr/default.asp? Page = 279 & lang = 1
“Kryoneria-Tsekoura”: From the village Kryoneria we continue to Perdikovrysi. After about 2 km, and after passing a stone fountain, we find at the left of the road the path. With relatively small slope and passing the stone threshing floor, we reach a carol with a spring. From here the trail becomes steep uphill on the ridge on the right. Reaching the top of the ridge we follow it and we reach a col in front of us. Without path, but well marked and bare rocky terrain, following the ridge to our right, we reach Tsekoura. The trail moves in bulk through a fir forest. Source: http://el.wikiloc.com (Satlani Sula)
“Ano Chora- Tsakalaki”: From the square and heading up the streets of Ano Chora, we come to a dirt road at the top of the village. We cross the dirt road and enter for an etch of the road. We follow the path to the right of the road. We pass two cisterns (an earthen, where is running drinking water and a cement one) and a stone chapel. Passing a glade with a chestnut growing and following steadily a SW course, we go back to the dirt road. At 100 meters we cross dirt roads and we take the left. We follow it for 400 meters and enter the woods, the left of the road in half -closed path through the chestnut forest. After 400 meters we meet a crossroad again. We take the left dirt road and continue for 200 meters. Again on the left side of the dirt road we enter into a non-visible path for 200 meters. We come to a dirt road, where we have visual contact with Tsakalaki. We follow the dirt road and after 950 m. we find again a crossroad. We take the right uphill dirt road and follow it until the end, where we find sheepfolds. We are entering the stream to the right and jump to the nape. Without path, with enough slope and relative difficult, rocky ground, we get on a ridge 80 meters below the first peak of the mountain (1697m). Bypassing the first peak, we get on a ridge and following it, we arrive at Tsakalaki. We have beautiful view of the whole mountains of Nafpaktia, Vardousia, the mountains of Evritania and Trichonidas Source: http://el.wikiloc.com (Satlani Sula)

Demonstration of local Gastronomy:
In Ano Chora, the main village of Nafpaktia, the guests have the opportunity to experience the local gastronomy through dishes that will prepare by themselves. They will open a foil for pie; they will make stuffed vegetables, tyrokouloures, and halva, but also they will roast meat in a pot, omatia and other delicacies. All these will be cooked with love in a traditional oven. At the same time a demonstration of preparation of raki takes place in a demonstration cauldron. After the end of the demonstration and after a short walk in the village it follows a meal including dishes that they made themselves.
Climbing in Varasova:
In Krioneri, Mountain Varasova is one of the best climbing areas in our country that many Greeks visit it but also foreigners. The Security nails are ready on the rock in many routes. The interested person has also many options of varying difficulty degrees of the routes that can meet the interests of the most demanding and experienced, as these of the beginners.
The quality of Varasova rocks is excellent for climbing. Varasova could justifiably be regarded as one of the best climbing areas in Greece. The mountain Varasova is a chalky mass that rises out of the sea and stands for its slopes, the vertical cliffs that “come out” of the sea, the gorge and its small coves that is forming.
The first climbs in Varasova were made in 1958 -59. Until then, hardcore climbers believed that “the climbing areas are in the mountains, rather than in coastal areas that fit vacationers and tourists.”
Today, Varasova has some of the most important and the most difficult climbing routes of our country. The emphasis now is on overcoming great difficulties (sport climbing). New very difficult routes, equipped with boards, are being opened in the most improbable (non-featured) points.

Rafting in Evinos:
Sixteen (16) kilometers from Nafpaktos, next to Evinos River, is the Hani Bania. It is a small village, built in a ravine. At the entrance of the village of Nafpaktos to Hani Bania there is the amusement park – Outdoor Alternative Activities, «Rafting House – Outdoor Activities», an ideal destination for lovers of alternative tourism. In it, visitors can take part in a series of sports activities such as Rafting, Kayak, Mountain Bike, Rappel, Climbing, Archery, Horse riding, Hiking, Flying Fox, but also they can observe nature or just enjoy a meal or a drink in the riverside. The route of Evinos River, 80km., presents a fast switching in the south, in the west, or in the east, that resembles a snake movement and therefore our wise people gave it the name Fidaris. But since it runs through a mountainous place, it receives the water of several tributaries and small streams. The main tributaries that enhance its route are: Paloukoviotikos, Votsaitikos, Kakavos, Klepaitikos, Skoteini, Kleinovitis, the Kotsalos, Fidakia and Poriaris. Strabonas, Apollodorus and Plutarchos say that the oldest name of Evinos was Lykormas. This name obviously indicates the eastern start, while Evinos again shows the beneficial effect of the river in the Aetolian land, especially in the southern plains.
“Junkpark” (Kite Park in Nafpaktos) is located in Pundou area in Gribovo. This point was not chosen at random from the supervisors of Junkpark. It is one of the best and safest beaches for kite Surf in Greece. Very strong and stable wind, towards west direction appropriate for beginners.
Kite surf comes from a combination of many other sports (windsurfing, water ski, wakeboard, paragliding) and in a sense could be considered the natural evolution of windsurfing, since the use of lighter equipment offers unlimited possibilities to the surfer. The surfer uses a small board, driving while holding the boom, connecting with long ropes to the kite. The main characteristic that distinguishes kite surf, is the force of lift, the third force which is added, whereby the surfer can use to pull the kite upwards, to perform very high jumps and therefore impressive maneuvers. This force is the element that differentiates kite surf from other water sports, where the surfer uses the power of attraction (or board as in wakeboard or water ski) or sail (as windsurf), with which, however, composes a whole ensemble and he has limited capacity of jumps, since the attraction was not pushing him upwards and thus, has no assets that offer the long ropes (20m. –30m.) of the kite in combination, always with the force of levitation.
